Sjögren’s syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease that primarily affects the glands responsible for moisture production, especially your tear and saliva glands. This results in persistent dryness in the eyes and mouth. Sjögren’s may develop alone (primary Sjögren’s) or alongside other autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus (secondary Sjögren’s).

While there is no cure for Sjögren’s syndrome, our specialized treatments help reduce daily symptoms and prevent complications. The hallmark of treatment includes drops to help manage your eye dryness and therapies for saliva stimulation. However, in some cases involving complications, I may need to utilize DMARD or biologic medications.
Sjögren’s syndrome can be effectively managed with early intervention and the right treatment plan. At Concierge Rheumatology, we are dedicated to helping patients regain comfort and improve their quality of life.
